The ingredients needed to prepare Soya chunk gravy:

  1. Get 2 of Big onions.
  2. Take 4 of tomatoes.
  3. Take 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  4. You need 3 of cloves.
  5. Provide 2 of cardamom pods.
  6. Prepare 1 of medium size cinnamon stick.
  7. Prepare 2 of small bay leaves.
  8. Get 2 tsp of fennel seeds.
  9. Prepare 1 tsp of peppercorns.
  10. Prepare 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  11. Take 4-5 of chopped mint leaves.
  12. Provide 2 tsp of chopped coriander leaves.
  13. Use 2 tsp of chopped curry leaves.
  14. Provide 1/2 cup of cocount.
  15. You need 1 tsp of chilli powder(adjust according to your taste.
  16. Use 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
  17. Take As per taste of Salt.
  18. Use 3 tsp of oil.
  19. Use 1 of green chilli.
  20. You need 1.5 cup of - water.
  21. Provide 1-2 cup of - soyachunks.

Steps to make Soya chunk gravy:

  1. In a blender, add cardamom pods, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, onion, tomato, green chilli, coconut pieces, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, mint leaves and curry leaves and grind it once..
  2. Grind everything together..
  3. Next add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and grind it into a paste..
  4. You can add water as required..
  5. Boil soya chunks by adding little bit salt in water.then grind 4-5 pieces of soya chunks and keep it aside..
  6. In one tsp oil roast the soyachunks for minute..
  7. Add 2 tsp oil in pan, add fennel seeds,cinnamon stick and bay leaves and fry it for 30 seconds..
  8. Add the paste and fry it for 2 minutes and then add water and boil it for 2 minutes and then add soya chunks and once it boils add the grinded soya chunks in it..
  9. Cook it for 5 minutes and then garnish it with coriander leaves..

Soya beans are used to make all those meat substitutes like tempeh, tofu etc. The process will be quicker and give crunchier soya chunks. I wanted to use less oil, so I roasted the chunks. Add the crispy soya chunks in gravy just when you are ready to serve it. Once added to the gravy, they will start to soak it up and become soggy.
